Mindfulness training and coaching
The mindfulness coaching sessions and group training events offered by The Moment is Now are designed to help you relieve stress and encourage well-being. They are not intended to be a treatment for mental health problems.
If you have recently received or are currently receiving treatment from a psychiatrist, psychotherapist or counsellor for an ongoing mental health problem, The Moment is Now strongly advises that you obtain approval from your mental health professional before proceeding with mindfulness coaching sessions or group training at this time. If you are currently taking medication for a mental health problem, do not change your medication, other than in close collaboration with your medication prescriber.
Please let us know in advance of attending coaching or training sessions if:
- You are suffering from any physical illness or ill health, or
- You have had any mental ill-health in the last few years, such as anxiety or depression (not required for free introductory group sessions).
In the unlikely event that we do not feel the training you have signed up for is suitable for you at this time, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss this in more detail and if necessary process a full refund.
Also, if you have recently experienced or are currently going through a traumatic life event, such as a separation from a long-term partner, the death of a close family member or friend, or redundancy, this may not be the right time for you to start to develop a mindfulness practice. However, this very much depends on your current psychological health and the support networks that you have around you, such as friends, family and mental health professionals.
If any of the above circumstances apply to you, please discuss this with Gillian or Ashley at The Moment is Now, so that we can explore how you can best be supported during any sessions you take part in.
You will be asked to sign a consent form in advance of your first session to indicate that you have read and understood the above.
Confirmation of booking details
By booking mindfulness coaching or a group training event, you confirm that the details pertain to you and that you are aged 18 or over.
Your place on a group training event is only confirmed on receipt of full payment of either a non-refundable deposit or the applicable fee. If paying online, your place is confirmed immediately. If paying by cheque, your place is not confirmed until the payment is received.
How we use your information
We will not pass your personal details to anyone else unless required to do so by court order.
Liability
While we take every precaution possible, we will not be held responsible for loss or damage to your personal belongings while on the premises where training sessions or coaching take place.
Cancellation policy
Group training events
If you cancel your booking within 14 days of booking, you will receive a refund of the full amount less the deposit amount applicable to each course or workshop. If you cancel more than 14 days after booking, or within 30 days of the start date of the course or workshop, no refund will be given, although you will be able to transfer to an alternative course or workshop if places are available. If the cost of the alternative course or workshop is different, you must pay any excess. If transferring to a lower-priced course, the difference will not be refunded.
In the unlikely event of a course or workshop being cancelled by us due to low numbers or other unforeseen circumstances, all money already paid will be refunded.
One-to-one mindfulness coaching
If you are unable to attend a one-to-one coaching session due to unforeseen circumstances or illness, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice so that someone else can benefit from an appointment. If you are unable to give 24 hours’ notice, and a room has been booked for your appointment, it may be necessary for The Moment is Now to pass on a cancellation fee for that room.
